My name is Chebon Porter, and I have been a licensed clinical psychologist for 25 years. I am licensed in Alabama and Oregon, and all of my sessions are delivered virtually.
I have been fortunate to have served countless teenagers, parents, young adults, professionals, military veterans, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. As different as we all are, what we have in common is at the very least, we just want a little more peace. This can mean different things for each of us. Whether it's managing the stress of high-pressure job or education, dealing with anxiety, depression, anger, substance use, or facing any number of the difficult cards life can deal out, there’s always a way to find peace or create change.
I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Processing Therapy for Trauma. I believe in the power of shifting your relationship with your thoughts to effect change in your emotions and behaviors.
Outside of my professional work, I find my own peace through the outdoors. I enjoy skiing, hiking, hunting, and fishing and basically anything in nature.
